I made it to launch everyone!  Since Saturday the 8th I’ve been in Gainesville Georgia continuing my training before we head out to the field!  As expected, there have been some changes.  Due to covid, we will no longer be starting in Guatemala.  Instead, we will head straight to Honduras and spend 2 months there!  WOO WOOOO!  Although initially I was slightly bummed about this, I have received a lot of peace and excitement about the change.  One of those things being that we will get to grow closer with our ministry hosts and potentially have sweeter relationships with the people we meet since we have more time.  In Honduras we will be tenting in the mountains with no electricity.  So I will do my best to find coffee shops with wifi to update you all a few times!  With this being said, I would so appreciate prayers for strength- mentally, emotionally and physically these next two months.

If everything goes as planned- we will begin our travels to Honduras on Friday morning.

 

A little update on what Gods been doing in my heart:

Being fully transparent, I’ve been struggling this past week as I have been feeling disconnected from God.  I tend to get frustrated in seasons of silence to the point that I lose sight of my purpose.  However, He has been so sweet this past week in sending me reminders and teaching me how to recognize His love for me even in these seasons.  This has enabled me to practice lifting Him up and loving Him even when I feel He’s distant.  There have been several words He’s given me that I’m not yet sure what to do with, but the other day He gave me the verse “Seek me and you will find me” so that’s exactly what I have been striving to do.

  1. Hey Madison! It was so sweet to see you in Georgia. I was glad to get my arms around you! Just keep pressing into the Lord. It may “feel” as He is distant, but the Truth is He is never more than a breath away. Don’t listen to any lies of the enemy. Bring what you’re feeling to your leaders and your team and to the light because enemy lies can’t stand when you bring them to the light. Standing with you and praying for you always. Love you!

  2. Ahhh!!! You’ve made it to launch! How exciting that you get some extra time in your first place! What a gift from the Lord as you’re making the transition to life on the race. Praying for you, Madison, as you start this incredible journey! Praying for a sweet and fresh connection to the Lord in this new season and for protection against all the lies! Excited to hear what the Lord does in and through you in these first couple of months!

  3. We make our plans, but it is the Lord who decides our path. Sorry you will miss Guatemala, but you have brought out the right attitude about it. Always look for the good and godly opportunities that are revealed when your plans are altered. Much of the world does not live by such a rigid schedule or agenda as we Americans do! 🙂 I’ll be praying for your physical, emotional and spiritual strength as you move forward. What an incredible journey you are on!!

  6. Dear Madison, I am so proud of you! Thank you for sharing this blog. One of my favorite scriptures that has spoken to me is from Philippians 4:11.. I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 4:12-I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. 4:13-I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. 4:19-And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

  7. Continuing to keep you in my prayers and pray that God keeps a hedge of protection around you and all those in your group. Will certainly miss you next month but know you are called to this mission.

  11. Thanks for the update. I feel like sometimes when we don’t feel like we are hearing from God we can actually get closer to him because we seek and desire him more. God has got you and knows exactly what you need and your desires. God gave me a scripture several years ago, Ps. 46:10 Be still and know that I am God. God showed up and brought me through a hard time in life. Sometimes we just need to be still and listen for him, all the time knowing that he is there and preparing our path. Love you. God is going to do great and mighty things on this race.
